Privacy policy
Wynspira · Last updated October 9, 2026
Wynspira is developed to provide fractal-art weather visualizations. This policy explains what information the app accesses and how it is used.
1. Information we collect
Location data. With your permission, the app accesses your precise or approximate device location to retrieve local weather conditions and forecasts. Location also supports saved home and favorite locations that you choose to store on your device.
Weather requests. The app sends location coordinates to its weather service to retrieve forecast information from Open-Meteo and, for supported U.S. locations, the National Weather Service. These requests are needed to provide location-specific weather.
Locally stored preferences. Settings such as unit preference, theme, text size, saved locations, and search history are stored locally on your device using standard app storage.
Notifications. If enabled, the app performs background checks to deliver local weather-alert notifications to your device.
Advertising data. The app displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), general device information, and usage data to serve and measure ads under Google's privacy practices.
Web advertising. The website and web app use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, browser storage, IP addresses and browsing information to serve and measure ads. Where required, the web consent message lets you manage consent and advertising preferences. Mobile advertising preferences do not automatically apply to the web version. Learn more about how Google uses advertising information.
2. Information we do not collect
Wynspira does not require account creation. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or other direct personal identifiers through the app, and we do not sell your data.
3. How information is used
- To determine and display local weather conditions and forecasts.
- To remember your preferences and saved locations between sessions.
- To send optional local weather-alert notifications.
- To display and measure advertising through Google AdMob.
- To display and measure web advertising through Google AdSense, subject to applicable consent choices.
4. Third-party services

- National Weather Service, for U.S. forecasts and alerts where available.
- Google AdMob, for advertising. See Google's Privacy & Terms for details about its handling of advertising data.
- Google AdSense, for web advertising and its associated web consent message.
5. Data retention
Preferences and saved locations remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app. Wynspira does not maintain a personal location-history profile.
6. Permissions used

- Notifications: to alert you to changing weather conditions when enabled.
- Internet: to retrieve weather data and serve ads.
7. Children's privacy
Wynspira is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your choices
You can disable location access, notifications, or advertising-related tracking (such as Limit Ad Tracking or Delete advertising ID) at any time through your device's system settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
